However, this is more of an issue with analog systems and less of a concern with digital EQ. Some professionals prefer clipping to boosting, as boosting can amplify background noise. However, with high-quality audio, this should not be an issue. It is generally safe to use more extreme boosts if the signal requires it, and not to worry about using additive EQ.
